So, today I'm going to brag on my girls a little bit. :) Hannah is 8 and Emma is 3. People often ask me what it's like to have two girls that are 5 years apart in age. I say "It's wonderful!!". I don't have a sister, but I have a brother who is 2 years younger than me. So, I wasn't sure what to expect with two girls. However, I must say, the older they get, the more I see what a special bond they have and am so proud of them!! Yesterday I really began to notice how much Emma looks up to Hannah and what a great example Hannah sets for her. Hannah is so kind-hearted and sensitive. She always concededs to Emma's wishes, letting her have her way even when she shouldn't. She has now started to be proactive! For example, if I fix two glasses of milk, she will automatically turn to Emma and ask her which glass she wants. At first, I was worried that she was giving in too often and spoiling Emma, but now I realize that she is teaching Emma some very valuable lessons. Emma has the best manners! She always says "please" and "thank you" and she is very good at sharing (at least with Hannah)! When they go outside to play, Hannah "mothers" Emma making sure she knows all the rules and is bundled up! It just melts my heart!
I hope they always have a close relationahip and a bond that only sisters can share!
