Yes, I am a Smockaholic!

Yes, I admit it.  I have a temporary, unexplained addiction to purchased smocked and appliqued clothing off of Facebook boutique sites.  For all of you out there that have been wondering what it's all about....here is everything you need to know.

If you want more information on smocking, you can check out wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smocking

How does it work?  Glad you asked!  There are Facebook pages that are devoted to selling smocked and boutique children's clothing at reasonable prices.  Some are private label brands, others purchase wholesale directly from the manufacturer.  They have auctions during the week (dates and times vary, but are set or annouced ahead of time).  They post previews during the day so you can decide what you want to purchase.  When the sale starts, the will post pictures of each item to their wall with the price, sizes, and quantity available.  When you see one you want, you post SOLD, your email address (for PayPal), the size you want, and any other specifics such as initial or name for monogramming.  That's it!  If you "win" the item, they will invoice you through PayPal.

Some of the sites have more than 10,000 "likes" and are very competitive!  Others do pre-orders only so everyone "wins" but you have to order in advance.  For example, they are selling Halloween and Thanksgiving items now.

Some of my favorites are:

Lolly Wolly Doodle (Amber Williford introduced me to this site and this was what got me hooked!)
Smockadot Kids
Sprinkled Sweet Smocked Boutique
Smocked Auctions
Sweet Chic-A-Dee
Smock It To Me
Smocked Steal of the Day
Itty Bits Children's Boutique
Smocked Beauty
Smockaholics
Doodlbugs Boutique

Below are some pictures of some of the items I have purchased.  It's tons of fun but very addicting!!!
